I've been on Humira 9 months. Seems I catch GI bugs and respiratory illness more often. My mom has Bell's Palsy. Should I be nervous about "catching" this? I've read that Bells Palsy is not contagious yet it could be caused by herpes virus, shingles as well. Anyone have any experience?

Hi There, one of my friend is currently taking treatment for her bells palsy. No one in her family had this and she got it all of a sudden one day. She felt some numbness on one side of her face and now she is not even able to close one of her eye.

I feel very sorry for her and I am currently looking out in internet to know more about this and helping her in all possible ways.

I have read that bells palsy isn't contagious and pray to god that u should not catch this

Hello,

Bell's palsy is most likely not contagious and most people who become affected with the condition make a full recovery over the course of the next several months. If you haven't seen an experienced facial paralysis surgeon yet about your treatment options, doing so would be a great idea. I am a board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Beverly Hills and the Director of the Facial Paralysis Institute, where I help patients overcome both facial paralysis and Bell's palsy with various non-surgical and surgical treatment methods. More information that you may find helpful can be located by visiting the Facial Paralysis Institutions Website.
