Betadine burns or allergy?

Does anyone have experience with betadine burning mucosal membranes? I am in quite a bit of pain after having betadine prep done on the lady parts prior to my biopsy and ablation on Thursday. Burning, swollen, raw, etc. I have been dabbing with unscented lotion, but this really sucks and hurts enough to keep me from sleeping.

Called my doc and he thinks I am allergic to betadine. Man, I'm a pain in the ass lol. He called a script to the pharmacy for a cortisone cream, and gave me some care instructions. I followed them, took a percocet and nap, and woke up feeling much better. Now I know to add betadine to my medicalert info.

If bentadine is used on me, we have to clean it all off with alcohol or I get a rash. I have a port so alcohol is not enough to clean with. I just can't put any dressing over bentadine. Doc used alcohol to clean the area before surgery to remove my infected port this week. Go in next week for a new port implantation. How does Chorhexodine (Sp?) work on you? Are you allergic to that? I am. At first it is like a chemical burn and leaves a redness where it was applied to skin, then w/in 3 days or less I get a rash that itches like the dickens.:yfaint:
