Bland diet ideas??

I use EN a lot but I tend to eat pretty bland and boring although I like it just fine. My friend keeps saying how I can eat so boring. Some rice and chicken and eggs and some soups usually, all very well cooked for much longer than usual.

I hope I understand what you mean by bland - do you mean easy to digest as well? I eat a fairly bland diet as it works well for me and I like it.

There's the BRAT diet which stands for Bananas, Rice (white), Apple sauce and Toast. It's only for the short term though.

I also find some breakfast cereals, non-fiberous ones like Rice Krispies and Cornflakes go down well, if you're ok with milk.

Avocados don't sound bland but they're easy to digest compared with other fruit and veg.

To add to everything that has already been suggested, I find that mashed potato, white pasta, chicken and white bread work for me. Basically think white!

Chicken soup, smoothies, plain yogurt, plain salmon maybe with just some salt, avocado, bananas, well cooked veggies chewed very well, scrambled egg, plain chicken, butternut squash.

This was my diet for basically 3 months and I felt great. Lots of peppermint tea is great for the belly too.

One of my sisters once said to me: 'How can you eat all that white food? I'd rather die...'

Yes, that's pretty much the reaction I get from people who don't know me and see me eat a plain bowl of rice and some dry chicken. It's worse when I use EN "you can't survive on powder".

I had that reaction from people when I was on a liquid diet for 10 weeks in the run up to my surgery! It wasn't that hard to do after the first few days, but most of my work colleagues were convinced that it would be the end of their world if they had to do it!

An intro SCD style diet recommends

Plain chicken breast or fish
Homemade 100% fruit juice gelatin
100% grape or apple juice watered 50%
plain applesauce
pureed carrots
ripe bananas

If you could explain what you mean, and types of food you can and cannot eat on "bland" diet, this would help.

I would say that using herbs and spices helps flavour all foods and I would be lost without them. love garlic mash and mustard mash. I use garlic, ginger, basil, thyme and coriander in a lot of my dishes. Then there's turmeric, paprika, salt pepper, bay leaf and parsely that I use in soups, stocks and sauces
