Ok :sign0085:

48 hours after remicade
DS has a single blister on the inside of his left palm by the pinky knuckle.
I know there is a type of eczema with remicade for the hand and feet (rare)

http://www.skinsight.com/adult/dyshidroticDermatitis.htm

So far only one blister
but treatment is methotrexate - which he stopped ( he is due friday)
topical steroids or in severe cases oral steroids.
HE is currently on steroids (20 mg pred).:ymad:
I am suppose to wean on Friday to 15 mg.:yfaint:

So now I have to see if it gets worse and email the rheumo/gi/allergy plus 2nd opinion place and it is going to be the weekend.

This so needs to stop.

Any one else ever have this????
What did you do?

Thanks

I have dyshidrotic eczema, mine developed right before I started Remicade, however. I had been on Remicade previously but it had been several years. My doctors don't think that had anything to do with it, though, more likely it was latent and my terrible flare brought it on.

Does your son get any pre-meds before the Remicade? Without benadryl or some other type of anti-histamine drug, the Remicade can cause an allergic reaction, hives are one of the more common reactions. Some people get full on hives, and others have noticed one or two.

If it is dyshidrotic eczema, you will know fairly soon. The first outbreak is extremely itchy and painful, and the blisters will pop and spread. Within three days my hands and feet were covered, it was so bad I had to wear cotton gloves constantly and it hurt to wear shoes. I hope for your son's sake it isn't the eczema!

Good luck, let us know what the the doctor says!
