Blood test

I had my 3 Monthly blood test yesterday as im on azathioprine.

I rung up today and they said its looks good, but the thing is for the past week ive been having loose bowels 1-3 times a day along with some cramping.

I also got my B12 levels tested as ive been getting B12 3 monthly also the lowest its been is 159 normal is 170> , highest its been in 2008 was over 300 and i was diagnosed in 2009.

Anyone know why my blood tests would be normal with is.

Could your symptoms be down to something other than a flare? For example, time if the month, or a change in diet can give me the mild symptoms you describe. As for the blood tests, firstly, it depends what tests they actually did- my usual aza checkup is just liver, kidneys and blood cell count, to make sure the aza isn't damaging me in any way, not any of the inflammatory markers (CRP and ESR). Secondly, if it's only the past week you've been getting the symptoms, it may not show up in blood tests yet, as CRP takes a while to change. Thirdly, sometimes you can have a flare and it won't show up in blood tests. And I would guess your b12 levels being somewhat normal means the injections are working.

Thanks for answering my question, im not sure what it could be down to, it just feels like i was before i got diagnosed.
It could be the time of the month as i came off the pill 3months ago and each month it seems to get worse.
Blood tests are for Liver, Kidneys and blood count all are either normal or abit over normal eg platelets which has been high and normal since i was born.

That is true, i do see the gastro doc on the 17th as its been cancelled 2 times because of the earthquake here.
