Does anyone ever look at their blood work. My total blood protein count is 8.1 and on the internet it says it should be lower in people with ibd or higher with chronic inflammation.

I always check my blood work. My GI runs a full blood panel once a month. Your values will change with the amount of inflammation in your body. So, if your Crohn's is acting up your inflammation will be higher, but if you are in remission your values will go back to being closer to normal. This is why he monitors it so often so that he can see if there is a drastic change as this can indicate something is going on in the body. Much better than waiting till you feel awful and having to go through a whole barrage of tests. What exactly is the test called that you are referring to?
