What should I do for burning and itching underneath my ilesotomy bag as it is causing it to unstick?

Hi Mke1
I have the exact same problem! I'm starting to think that its from something
i've eaten that is causing the stinging and I know! its really sore! I usually let it sit open for awhile to get air and put some powder on it although that stings for abit. When I put the flange back on , I make sure there is no powder and I use the spray. What do you use? Then I apply heat for about 20 minutes. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. This week its unstuck every day! Grrrrr.

You may need to change the bag more often if it is burning and itching. How long do you typically go between bag/flange changes?

I swear by calomine lotion round the edge of the stoma. Really soothing and no side effects listed. Let is dry completely though before putting the appliance on xxx
