We tried using Buzzy for shots today and it didn't work at all. I'm guessing we just did it wrong (or DS is ridiculously sensitive to pain). Has anyone used Buzzy and have any tips?

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, go to:

YOu hold buzzy on the site for 30 seconds to 1 minute
then they clean the site and you move buzzy above the site so
it is between the site and the nerves running to the spine.

that said it does not stop the pain from swelling ( which you get with he flu shot or allergy shots)

buzzy works best on blood draws and iv.

shots are "ok"

Grace loves her Buzzy. I think it's just more mental help then anything.
I was told by a nurse NOT ice the wings because it restricts the veins and makes it harder to get blood.
So her's are on for just looks.

Also I just hold the buzzy bee (we have the :)Lady Bug) on the arm. We let the nurses use their own tourniquet.
My son hasn't needed it yet.

We use Buzzy, though not with the ice packs. Buzzy goes above the site when they will inject. What we do is let the nurse apply the tourniquet and work out where the best place for the injection goes, then we put buzzy on. Just before the injection we switch buzzy on and nurse takes the blood.

I will say that I think this is more a case of "him thinking it will work, rather than actually doing anything". BUT as we had gone for 3 years with a total refusal for him having any injections at all this has helped greatly.

Has anyone used this for the flu injections? We have so far only used it for taking blood. Flu injection is due so just want to know if it works for this as well?
