C-Reactive Protein

I have had elevated C-reactive proteins. I don't remeber the actual lab results but the doctor told me that this was a marker for inflammation and infection.

Hey,

I'd bet almost everyone here has had an elevated CRP at somepoint...its one of the key indicators of Crohns (its a marker for inflammation). I think mine topped out in the 200s somewhere...which is ridiculously high. Its supposed to be between 2-5 I think.

I had a CRP done 9 months ago which came back 3.6. I had been on high doses of pred for 6 months though. I had another one drawn 3 days ago and with my luck it'll come back normal as well so my doctors can yell at me again. I'm 6 mouse clicks from the results right now and the suspense is driving me nuts.

In the past my ESR and white counts were always high. This time around it just seems like nothing is going right that might lead to actual treatment. They did a calprotectin stool test earlier and it came back extremely normal, yet they did a scope a couple weeks later and saw and confirmed chronic inflammation so that result should have been impossible. I think these tests might be conspiring against me.
