i have been diagnosed with Crohns in my terminal ileum about 2 years ago. Since then i have been placed on numerous medications:
Pentasa
Budensimide,
Azathrprine
Mercaptopurine
Allupurinol
+ others

All of the above have not effected the main symptom that i have of going to the toilet many times throughout the day, every day with no respite. There is no blood and very little pain id any.

I have a recently had a calprotectin test with a result of near 350, the only time that this level was reduced below 100 was when i took mercaptopurine, unfortunately this made me nauseous so much so that i could barely work, occasionally I vomited. Ii am now on a reduced a dose of mercaptopurine of 1 tablet every 3 days, with allupurinol, a drug usually taken for Gout, every day

Currently a doctor thinks that i also have IBS as well as IBD. and therefore I am taking Immodium to counter the IBS as and when i need it

At no time have the symptoms of incessantly going to the toilet ceased. What other things does can cause a raised calprotectin level. I am rapidly losing faith/patience with my doctors. Please help me.

PS I do not have Cancer
