I had an emergency scope last week and my butt still hurts from it. I mean it would hurt for a little while after a BM prior to the scope, but its worse now and it drains a lot more than it used to. After a BM there is this pink stuff all over the tissue. That prep was one of the most painful things I have had to endure. It felt like I drank sulfuric acid and my bum burned for days after.

If feel like my fistula situtation was left a lot worse off from the scope.

I had a scope back in September and that one didnt hurt at all. Although my disease was not as active. I only had 3 small crohns spots in my bowel back then.

I feel like my body needs a few days to re-coop after a scope. The prep really messes me up for a long time. Your body is not a plumbing system, and it wasn't made to be rotto-rutted like that. I hope you start feeling better soon!

I think you'll heal and a lot of us have pain for days after a scope. They are pretty rough when they go in and some are probably worse than others at being "gentle." If it continues or gets worse, see your doc.

Get some cream for your butt. It helps a lot with that.

If you have a lot of swelling and/or a tumor/abscess it can really restrict access from that end.

I had one really rough one but the other two were simple as pie. The bad one was because I had a big abscess pushing hard into my bladder and rectum. It took 2 docs to drive the scope because the first one got tired after 40 mins! They were persistent because it is really important to get some biopsies from as far up there as possible to rule out cancerous tumors.

Yeah I bleed after every scope. It last several days and then stops. The chafing feeling stops shortly after.
