I can't wrap my head around it.:ybatty:

Since starting school Grace hasn't poo'ed.
She's getting up earlier and earilier.
Painful hiccups and slight fever for an hour or two.
She said once that her tummy hurt.

:dance:She loves school. Can't wait to go every day say far.

Have you noticed if any of you kids or if your an adult,
have had problems like this?

Any idea's?

I've asked Grace and she says no. I will ask the teacher when I drop her off.
Grace for the most part will tell me because she likes it when I get excited:dance: over her poo.
Only an IBD forum will understand that statement.

My youngest son, a nonIBDer, has a real issue with public washrooms. While away on vacation he wouldn't use the washroom for the first 4 days, until he just couldn't hold it anymore. I've encouraged him to go each morning before school, so he doesn't get the urge there and then end up holding it. I think we've got his bowels trained to go at the same time each day! Could this be what's going on with Grace?

Maybe a combination of tiredness and excitement. It must have been a big week for her.

Could she get taking is less liquid? Too busy to drink.

Hopefully the break over the weekend will do her good.

Yeah, Jack always excited about school (actually likes school) but issues every year at the start of school.

I asked her teacher if she drinks water during the day and she said she's never seen her do it.

And the worst mom of the year goes to ME!
I told the teacher she needs water during class and she said no problem.

I hope that's the problem.
Next step is to pull a food or two. Maybe it's a EGID's thing.:angry-banghead:

Amy never goes poo at school. As soon as she gets home she heads straight to what she calls her office, I Pad in hand and sits there for quite a while. Every day she takes a water bottle that she has to finish before she gets home and I ask her if she went pee, as she wasn't even doing that. I've come to expect the tummy aches worsening when school starts and I have already seen some weight loss in only her first week. Even though she is happy to be back.

Her office, love it!

Quite honestly, Farmwife, I don't know if I'd change too much just yet. It's a big transition that just might need a little time to work itself out.

Yes. My son's GI mentioned another patient flaring for prom. Can't win for trying!

I wouldn't have thought of not drinking enough at school either. I know neither of my kids likes going to toilet at school. Andrew tends to come home and has his "slot" about 1/2 hour after coming home. Hope it's just a dehydration thing!

I only know the water thing due to personal experience with number 2 child in prep (first year of school). Glad your teacher is taking your concerns on board.

Our teacher was told that she need to make sure child drank water at school, but I was told were old enough to know when to drink. I tried to explain about stomach migranes.
Poor teacher couldn't cope with first one and parent helper had to clean up the bright yellow bile.

After that I had no problems with her teacher making sure there was in enough liquid intake and she removed her windcheater on those 35c days.

Your teacher sounds like a keeper.

Even more confussed:ybatty: and getting slightly concerned.
Grace told me her bum hurt last night.
I looked and the around and anus is very dark red.:(
She doesn't have yeast infections any where. It doesn't look like one.
Nor does it look like a diaper rash. It's just flush with the skin and smooth.

It's just solid red and very sore looking.

Calling her GP or GI soon.

SEE I KNEW SCHOOL WASN'T WORTH IT!!!!:voodoo:

Any thoughts?

We have the same issue here. It comes and goes. Sometimes there's bumps, sometimes it is just bright red skin. She says it itches and burns. I plan on asking the GI at her appointment this week.

Poor Grace! My son has always suffered from constipation and a resulting sore bum. Sometimes red bumps and rashly looking, sometimes blood-red and extremely sore. He is on MTX now which has the side affect (beneficial, in our case) of loosening stools. His bum is much better now, as a result. Could her sore bum be due to her infrequent trips to the washroom right now?
