can hardly eat anything

Hi I was diagnosed a month ago and lately I have noticed I can hardly eat a thing before I am full or my tummy starts hurting. I dont have problems w the big d or vomiting just nassau. I had remicade yesterday and my second b12 shot I hope I get some enrgy soon I have been in bed ALL WEEK and its driving me bonkers. I hate reading I hate tv I hate this bed and I hate feeling like a walking zombie. UGH! All I am on is asacol, prilosec, and iron along w a daily vit. and vit d with a probitoic. They have me on pristique and lamictal as well for the depression. I have been sick for almost 2 years and its taken this long with docs galore to finally figure out whats wrong. So how long does it take on average before you start feeling better? I have been listless for 2 yrs and I need my life back. Also is it normal to not have much of an appetite. My inflamation starts at the esphogus, through intestines and colon. Moderate to severe inflamation. Any advice would help. Thanks

Remicade takes a bit to work, all meds do. I know Pristiq but not Lamictal. If your tummy starts to hurt , make your meals smaller and more often. Most times around this time of day (3-4ish) my tummy starts to bloat and I take gingerforce which helps but not always. Make sure you are getting lots of calcium too, all you need it bone problems too. Try Ensure for those days you dont have time for the pain or want it. Try to be calm, stressing out just aggrivates the gut. Pristiq takes about 4 weeks.. :hang:

I can relate to how you feel with small appetite when I'm in a flare I don't feel hungry at all and when I do I only need a couple of mouthfulls of food and I feel like I have eaten the most giant meal. I just try and eat small amounts little and often to make sure my body gets enough and that I don't cause myself to much pain or discomfort.
Like Pen said above it takes a little while for the meds to work and I think everyone is slightly different.
Hope you start to feel better soon

Try some rice crispie squares that's easy and it has sugar and rice it always worked for me for a safe snack. You can microwave them if they are to hard but DON"T buy them from the store make your own it's super easy. Then you can read the instrucions and you can cook and you can eat so that's 3 things you didn't want to do done. I'd say it's a good start :)
