Can thickening of small bowel disappear on its own?

Just curious about that. Can it disappear or does it not. Because I don't know the cause of the thickening in a portion of my small bowel yet, I'm just wondering. I'm due to take the pill cam soon and wondering if the thickening can rectify itself spontaneously?

Anybody know?

Hi. Spontaneous remission does occure; as seen in drug trials in the placebo group. It's typically a lot less than the active drug group but it does happen.

Thanks for your reply DJW. You mentioned drug trials and placebo groups. But if not being medicated and undiagnosed, I'm assuming the chance of thickening spontaneously disappearing is lower?

I'm honestly not sure about that. I need to think on that but I'm in a fair bit of pain at the moment. I'll get back to you.

Sorry to hear you're in a bit of pain. I hope it subsides soon and you get to feeling better. I know the pain attacks aren't nice.

Hello, Inflammation can subside and behave itself but scar tissue will not subside from what i have been told.
The pill cam will hopefully give you and your Dr. a good idea of what is going on.
Take care ;)
