I post this mostly for the people new to IBD than may not know about it, but also as a reminder to all.
This food additive does not seem to be safe for anyone with IBD,even if it is,why take a chance. Watch what you eat,it may make you sicker. It is even in toothpaste. Looks like it may have been used since the 1930's.
