My friend, Carol Decker, needs your help. Carol has Ulcerative Colitis. Unfortunately, this auto-immune disease has made her susceptibile to complications very early in her life.

Carol Decker had an emergency c-section on June 10, 2008. After the surgery she developed life-threatening hypotension from a septic pneumonia infection. After fighting for several weeks, the medicine she was on to save her life had the unfortunate side effect of blocking blood flow to her legs, left arm and eyes.

Since then, Carol has had both legs amputated below the knee, her left arm amputated, and is blind. Carol was transferred to Harborview after an extended stay in the ICU at Swedish Hospital. Her insurance is covering her prosthetics. Her husband, Scott, is paying out-of-pocket expenses that her insurance won't cover. The money we are trying to raise is for her inpatient rehab, which her insurance will not cover. That is estimated to be, at the worst, $80,000.

Carol now has a 20 month old daugher, Chloe and a 3 month old daugher, Safiya. Her husband Scott has been amazing throughout all of this. But he can't do this all on his own. Please join us for food, music, and fun on September 20th to raise money for Carol's medical expenses.
