changing my meds ?

Hi Dave, is this being done with the supervision of your Gastro Dr or GP? You should never just come off meds without speaking to someone. What will you be taking instead? Is your IBD in a place where it needs no meds, not even mild maintenence ones? If you're planning on stopping next year, how do you know this will be okay for your IBD?

If you're finding side effects bothersome then you must speak to a Dr, not just come off.

From the effects you describe, a simple anti-histamine should stop the itching. I'm not on any meds but do get a itchy, red rash if it gets warm and stays warm. All I take is the anti-histamine for a few days, problem solved.

If that sounds like a solution, be sure to check the aza and AH won't react to each other. Again you can speak to a Dr about that, or Pharmacist, or read the little leaflets.

The aza is for crohns and Ive been in remission for 5 years now. antihistamines don't seem to help and the side effects (itching) seem to be getting worse, I love the sun and don't want to get to the point I'm sat inside all summer or cant go to Spain for holidays and stuff. I am really interested in trying the natural/herbal remedies to help the crohns.
The doctor does not seem to want me to stop taking aza so i'm in a bit of a awkward spot !!!

cheers

David
