Hi all,
I experience fatigue with crohns, like most of us do. Since flaring I can't tolerate coffee at all. I am wondering if people have a reaction to caffeine tablets or energy drink shots, too? Is It something else in coffee that is harsh on the system? Anyone have luck w a coffee alternative for energy?

Yup, I only use caffeine tablets never tried energy drink shots but the tabs are perfectly fine for me, I guess just in moderation like everything! ;) :ysmile:

My daughter has used caffeine tablets (No Doz) and still does at times when needed, especially around exam times. They work well for her and she has had no issues with them but coffee isn’t an issue for her either.

Interesting. Never heard of this. Are they over the counter?

I think it would matter whether coffee itself bothers you or caffeine bothers you. If it's the latter im guessing tabs wouldn't help.

I'm afraid that I'm one who can't have caffeine. At one point I tried sugar and that worked. However, if you use sugar to keep you awake once it stops working it's a very fast crash!!!

I'd love to try this on the go when I can't get a coffee but I'm afraid with my blood pressure.

If you can tolerate coffee is there any extra incentive to having these? Maybe it will help my gerd?

Yep. I haven't tried them since diagnosis but when I was using them prior they were quite useful. No hyper feeling or coming down off the 'high' of caffeine
