Colonoscopy done - back on the Pred

Hi all, had my colonoscopy done this afternoon. The prep was the worst I have ever experienced (this was my 7th colonoscopy), I drank the picolax last night at 6pm and spent a good part of the evening throwing up. It was bad enough that I didn't do the Klean Prep this morning but this didn't cause an issue. It was the quickest colonoscopy I have had, it only took a few mins for them to find the angry red inflammed colon. I have been put on 40mg Prednisone with the plan to be tapered off this in 8 weeks. By this time I will have seen the docs with a plan to start Humira. Not great but at least I will be ale to eat me xmas dinner without being sick straight afterwards

Glad to hear you got some answers! Sucks you have to go on prednisone but atleast like you said you'll get to enjoy a delicous Christmas dinner now!

I'm sorry the prep was so awful. Glad to hear they're getting you treated though. Stop by the pred forum if you need to vent or have any questions. Hope you feel better and your Xmas dinner is extra tasty!

What did your colonoscopy show? Any inflammation??

Yes it showed that I had a lot of inflammation, the bowel was quite 'angry' looking. I saw my GI doc this week and we are going to try Azathioprine again for my treatment, currently the pred is still dong it's job
