Hi everyone,

I've been lurking on the forum for a couple of months, but figured it's time to take the plunge and join.

Story in a nutshell: I've been having loose stools several times a day since January. In and out of different doctors - tests back negative for all parasitology, celiac, gallbladder, kidneys and liver all normal. No metabolic or blood count abnormalities. One doc claimed my problems were due to disregulated microbiota resulting from being a non-breast fed premie, and recommended gluten-free, lactose-free diet with probiotics for 2-3 months, said it would "solve everything". After two months of that, got fed up with being in constant pain and went to see a different GI. This one seems good and scheduled me for a colonoscopy and endoscopy in June. At this point, just hoping that we learn what's causing it.

As far as I can tell, my symptom matches most closely with Crohn's - and that's what this doc seems to think it is as well.

From reading other people's posts, I can see that my symptoms aren't as bad as they could be. I've only had pain so bad I couldn't function normally a few times, although it's often distracting. The stool issues aren't dehydrating or bloody and I don't have any of the fatigue. I'm just sick of being in pain every single time I flippin' eat ANYTHING. Sick of waking up in the middle of the night from the pain. Sick of being scared of messing myself on car rides (thank god hasn't actually happened). And I'm scared of it getting worse, which it looks like it does. I'm scared and depressed.

Just thought it was time to join, so I have someone to talk to who knows what it's like.

Thanks for reading,
Stella

Welcome to the forum...in my case I dealt with similar symptoms for about 10 months undiagnosed and it can be very stressful not knowing aswell a being afraid to go anywhere in fear of having accidents. When I was Finnally diagnosed it was Wrongly thought to be UC,hopefully the tests in June will give you some answers and I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks Tubes - I've heard a lot of horror stories about waiting forever for a diagnosis or having test results come back ambiguous. I'm really hoping they see something conclusive then they go "down there" next week.

They thought I had a real bad stomach virus for almost a year and that was with going to multiple hospitals and seeing many doctors they would give me some IV fluids and send me home.
