Hey everyone! I haven't been on the forum much because I'm doing great gut-wise!

Anyway, had a routine EGD and Colonoscopy yesterday that were visually negative for active Crohn's - hoping when the biopsies come back they are clear, too!

This afternoon I'm having menstrual bleeding - not a huge amount and not accompanied by the horrible cramping I get with my cycle. Lately my cycles have been very regular so I'm right in between periods. (Tried to search for threads on this but keep coming back to the "can I have a colonoscopy during my period" topic - so sorry if I missed any threads on this question!).

Since there isn't any pain I don't see how this could be any sort of perforation, right? I haven't had a bowel movement yet. No blood from my rectum. And they did the urine pregnancy test which I'm assuming was negative as they went ahead and 'scoped me.

Not feeling like this is "urgent" so I thought I'd ask here instead of calling the afterhours GI....

So, anyone had a colonoscopy trigger menstrual bleeding? Is it anything to be concerned about?

I'm afraid the only thing I found mentions to contact your doctor. It's sounding like a colonoscopy wouldn't trigger a period. So, I don't know. But, I think I'd at least contact an advice nurse to make sure.

Thanks - I haven't been able to find anything, either... at least I know I'm not missing anything obvious!

The bleeding's extremely light/intermittent today. I might check with my GI nurse tomorrow. Otherwise I'm seeing my PCP in a few weeks so I can mention it then.

Thanks for the reply!
