I just took some Buscopan for the first time.. doesn't really have any side affects. I just went to the toilet and my hands are hurting, like pin pricks (not pins and needles) and they've got a rash on them, and on my tummy too and I think slightly on my legs but not as much.

Only my hands hurt on the back of them where the small pin sized red dots are..

Is this an allergic reaction to Buscopan or a side affect or is it just something else? I can breath though, so I don't think it's an allergy..

Not really had this sensation or problem before.

Apparently the only side affect I will get (says my GI) is drowsyness and I don't feel drowsy at the moment, just tired and concerned about the rash.

I've taken 20mg about 10/15 minutes ago.

I woke my mum up and got her to look, she says it's ok, but I was wondering if anyone has had this before or any idea what it could be?

edit - My face is dry and itchy now too and now feeling a lot more tired. I am seeing doctor in the morning, wish me luck for the night D:

edit 2 - My hands are now swelling up... mum says i'm ok D: I can still breath, so it's fine.. if I stop breathing then i'll cry.. and panic.. and get help of course.. i hope that doesn't happen! What if I died in my sleep? If I stopped breathing in my sleep, would I wake up?!

SIDE EFFECTS: Constipation, dry mouth, trouble urinating, or nausea could occur. If these continue or are bothersome, notify your doctor promptly. Very unlikely but report: rash, itching, swelling of the hands or feet, trouble breathing, increased pulse, dizziness, diarrhea, vision problems, eye pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Sweety, it says it is rare, but that you should contact your doctor. It sounds like you are definitely having an allergic reaction.

Best of luck !

I agree with Crohn's Mom, the symptoms you describe are consistent with an allergic reaction and you should see a doctor very soon.Don't take any more of this medicine until it is checked out by your doctor.
I had similar symptoms when I had a reaction to antibiotic.
Hugs and best wishes

Thanks you two. Luckily I had a doctors appointment this morning. But Buscopan was my last medication to help.. they think i've got IBS, and i've used all the IBS medications and none have helped.. or made me worse. But i'm okay this morning :)
