Hi all,
My mother is found having colon cancer at the end of her colon but before rectum. Because there are couple polyps in the colon and a big one at the beginning of colon (which was once removed and come back), her doctor highly recommend her to completely remove her colon.
The surgeon doctor gave us an option to save the rectum, that's our current option. However we are struggling to change the surgery to save the middle way of the colon by removing polyps only. (which is not recommended by the doctor)
She is really scared how it would be like without colon, but rectum only.
Does it mean she gonna have watery stool only even she has rectum?
Is she gonna have high frequency of pooping in the rest of her life?
Thank you very much for any informative/supportive answer.
Rick
