Mri results confirmed another fistula I rang in for them today because I had a job interview I never got speaking to the consultant I was told he didn't need to see me in would be put on the surgeon's list for more surgery i was originally told they were looking for Crohn's and I was going to be investigated and have a colonoscpy now I'v no idea what is going on i rang back to find out if this was now not going to happen but he was in surgery all afternoon I'm wondering now is he not going to do a colonoscopy and if he doesn't need to see me does that mean the mri suggests Crohn's isint there i actually don't understand history was perianal abscess lacking folate mouth ulcers diarrhoea infection fistula infection mouth ulcers diarrhoea constipation cavity discovered and now another fistula? ?

I don't think it shows Crohn's. I'm currently going through testing for Crohn's myself! The wait is so frustrating. It's hard to diagnose and often involves multiple tests.
I'd definitely call again next week and ask what's happening x
unbelievable can anyone shead some light on this item will sore but how can anyone focus or move forward when they don't get any answers

You can get idiopathic fistula's x
You can have a normal MRI and still have Crohn's, an MRI doesn't necessarily rule out Crohn's but I would have thought if an MRI is indicating Crohn's they would want to do a colonoscopy anyway routinely to assess what is going on from the inside of your bowel.
honestly Eleanor I cannot process this probably because I never got speaking to him in feel as if I'm not been taking seriously I don't know how to get an explanation and I definitely did not think I had another fistula and shocked to be told it will be 4 or 5 months before I will have this done and no mention of the colonoscpy at all sorry to rant but I just feel flabbergasted to be honest x
My thoughts exactly what is causing all this ??

Idiopathic just means an unknown reason for the cause! Meaning, not all fistula's are because of Crohn's x
I think you need to start calling the consultants personal secretary daily if necessary and ask:
1. For a letter or appointment to explain the MRI results
2. If/when you will have a colonoscopy
A colonoscopy is the best way of ruling whether or not Crohn's is responsible for all your problems at this stage.

I agree, the secretary's were very helpful when I was going through this. They won't be able to give you test results per se, but they usually subtlety indicate things and chase up appointments etc. Good luck, I know it's incredibly frustrating!

No problem, I don't think doctors always realise how much you are suffering and after months of coming away from appointments with no answers how frustrated you get! I have been chasing a follow up appointment recently and the secretary said if it's urgent I should see my GP and they can send something over to bump you up the list too. Good luck!
I no sophabulous I was thinking of booking and appointment with my GP next week and getting her to write to them I think because I'm not 6 st you're not taken seriously I was 13 st one year ago now I'm just over 10 7 and that's without trying to loose any weight but again Maby worry is causing additional symptoms I don't know but one thing is for sure I feel crap most of the time and I'v no answers for that disaster

After a draining weekend the hospital called me at 9.10 am to say to me I do need the colonoscpy done and they were organising it ASAP again I just spoke with his secretary but after a weekend of watching you're food floating around in the toilet bowel I'm relieved to hear that they are completing their investigations into am starting to feel very down I'm sure you all can related to that anyway hope your all having a good day and if not I'd love to chat xx

I'm really glad to hear this. The worst position you can be in is to have something wrong with you and not know what it is. Hopefully this will get to the bottom of it as it sounds like you have been experiencing a lot of horrible symptoms and that is no way to live.

Sorry to read you're so down. But I'm so happy they're looking in to this further and you will get the tests you need. I'm in limbo myself at the moment, waiting for a call to confirm I'll be getting further tests.It does make you very down, but don't be afraid to talk about how you're feeling. XxX
