For some reason I seem to always cough when I either drink milk or eat yogurt. Does anyone else do this? It does help taking supplements when eating or drinking. But, I still cough no matter what. I just want to make sure I'm not alone... :ybatty:

Coughing with a top eight allergen ( milk being one of them ) could be a sign of a true IgE allergy.
I would try to see an allergist and they can advise if IgE testing is needed either by a skin prick test ( really just plastic combs ) or a blood test or both.
Adults can develop allergies .

IgE allergies can be fatal so please have a doctor figure out what is the cause of your issues .

Anaphylaxis symptoms occur suddenly and can progress quickly. The early symptoms may be mild, such as a runny nose, a skin rash or a "strange feeling." These symptoms can quickly lead to more serious problems, including:

Trouble breathing
Hives or swelling
Tightness of the throat
Hoarse voice
Nausea
Vomiting
Abdominal pain
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Fainting
Low blood pressure
Rapid heart beat
Feeling of doom
Cardiac arrest
People who have had a severe allergic reaction are at risk for future reactions. Even if your first reaction is mild, future reactions might be more severe. That's why it's important to carry self-injectable epinephrine if you are at risk, and 911 should be dialed in the event of a very serious reaction.

Understanding anaphylaxis and the things that can trigger this severe allergic reaction will help you manage your condition.

Most are covered by insurance so just whatever your deductible /percentage is.
Ds has had allergies since age 2 and multiple tests .
Never noticed a jump in what was paid out for the year

Total IgE tends to be higher in atopic ( allergic individuals ) AND per Ds allergist atopic kids at least tend to get more autoimmune diseases since their inate immune system is not working properly.

Total IgE is not the same as a particular food allergen IgE

As far as Gi and allergens not a good fit
You really want the right captain stealing the ship
If they suspect milk allergy ( they may not ) then it's only a single blood test
Panels for multiple allergens are not recommended at all
Same with skin test only one allergen

A Gi or any doc can order the blood test but having them interpret the results is a whole other ball game
Testing has a 50% false positive rate so an allergist is really needed

Learned long ago Gi handles the gut
Dermo handles The skin and so on

Good luck just be aware true anaphylaxis is not something to wait on it can go from annoying to deadly within minutes
