Ok so I am more than familiar with the crazy mood swings associated with prednisone, believe me I definetly had my fair share of those during my last flare but does anyone else get really moody sometimes just on their regular crohn's meds? I am on Humira and Asacol and there are days that I will alternate between being super pissy and then jump to busting into tears for no reason! I am starting to worry cause I used to be a really laid back girl and now I am turning into this crazy woman that jumps down everybodies throat! Please people tell me it's the crohn's!

I have not had that issue with any of the meds I've taken (besides Prednisone) and I don't have that issue without meds either. I'm sure during a flare it is possible for you mood to get messed with especially if its affecting your sleep pattern. Lack of or disrupted sleep can make people straight up crazy. Not saying you're crazy. :p Also being constantly worn out can also make you moody. The side effects themselves could be causing unwanted symptoms and those symptoms could be the cause of your mood changes. Are you having any other side effects?

I have this all of the time trust me, i think its normal:) My doctor also put me on birth control because i am anaemic and she doesn't want me to have my period so i can loose more blood. So with all that going on in my body, i could punch a hole in the wall lol. I also break down crying after i get angry, and then end up falling asleep which seems to be alot these days. I hope it gets better for you and me:)

Moodiness is one of my Crohn's symptoms, I swear! I was put on an antidepressant to treat the depression, stress, anxiety, fatigue etc, which made a huge improvement. But a few weeks back I had a stomach bug, which seemed to trigger a mini flare up, and ever since I have been really moody again. I am guessing it's to do with serotonin- illness can deplete your stores which affects your brain, the antidepressants help to build up the stores again.

A lot of people w/ crohns suffer a lot on pain. So pain lack of sleep and a cocktail of drugs. Why wouldn't you be moody or cranky? I mean that in the nicest way. I am moody too! :)

Thanks everybody. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one. I take Zoloft but it's a really low dose. Generally I'm not a moody person at all but there are days lately that I just can't seem to control it! I can handle being cranky but the crying part sucks! lol and the worst part is my boyfriend gets the worst of it! He takes it really well but I still hate doing that to him. I know he wonders what happened to his chill laid back girlfriend and why she was replaced with high maintenance crybaby! lol I know I can't do anything about it but hang in there, but still I miss the days when I could control my emotions, and my bowels for that matter!
