Crohn's and HPV

Hi. Anyone had HPV vaccin and has crohn's also? If not, how you dealt with warts?

The HPV vaccine is likely safe for those on immunosuppressants - it's not a live strain, it's a protein chain that provokes the human immune response to it. But always check with your GI for every vaccination if you're immunocompromised.

have you done it before diagnose? my GP seems reluctant to give it to me, yet to hear from my gastro specialist. thx

Thx, i have my pap smear tomorrow and will talk to her. im on suppressants for 8 years now.

I'm also curious if any males with crohns have been vaccinated? I know they are now encouraging it but after a certain age it doesn't really make sense. I think I'm too old and am likely part of the 90 whatever percent that now have this latent virus.

I had it done after diagnosis with no problems whatsoever.

I got mine after diagnosis as well, my doctors even insisted upon it

For anyone reading this, please get the HPV vaccine. You do NOT want to be in the catch 22 I am in with HPV causing pre-cancerous lesions that are basically never going to go away because of immunosupression. It SUCKS.
