Does anybody have experience with treating CD and high mercury levels concurrently?

Apparently mercury binds at the endothelial tight junctions causing them to open leading to leaky gut. This in turn can lead to increased inflammation. My doctor does IV chelation but says that can't be done until the gut is healed. But it seems that the mercury is exacerbating the gut problems. Catch-22.

I've studied up on materials from Dr. Chris Shade at quicksilver scientific.com and his approach makes a lot of sense using special functionalized silica (IMD) to bind the mercury are remove it from the intestinal lining. He supports this oral chelation with botanicals to up-regulate the genes producing enzymes used in the detoxification pathways.

Has anybody here experienced changes in CD after treating heavy metal toxicity?

after being exposed from what exactly? you have to be exposed to mercury to first be contaminated or toxic from it, fish is the most likely source. why do you believe you have been exposed?
