Hello,

I have had Crohn's for a few years now, but got symptoms under control with Azathioprine. I have a month-long trip to Sri Lanka planned for the summer and although I am really excited, I am a bit concerned...The flight doesn't bother me but I'm just wondering if anyone else has travelled here and had any Crohn's-related issues? Its a completely new experience for me as I have never left Europe, although I do find that I am usually completely symptom free in warmer climates so this is a bonus! Just interested to hear other people's experiences of Sri Lanka and if there's anything I should prepare myself for :)

Does your doctor know of your trip?
You may need some immunisations before you go and some antimalarials?
The food will be different so you might want to bring some protein powders with you.
Bottled water and drinks will be safer.Don't eat anything that is not well cooked, no salads etc.
Good to hear your crohn's is under control.
Have a great holiday
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha
