Hello, my name is Eric and I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease as an infant (roughly 1974). It was very unusual (maybe still is) for infants to be diagnosed with Crohn's and I was not expected to live past 7 years old. I was put on a very strict diet (don't remember taking any meds but I may have, remember eating ALOT of pudding). lol Probably funded a Bill Cosby family vacation or two from all the pudding profits.
Anyways, when I was about 15 I went in to the hospital and drank the big jugs of barium and spent a day in and out of x-ray so they could see what's what. Well, REMISSION was the word!
I have never taken any meds since or been treated for my Crohn's since that day. Many of the foods I could not eat growing up, I still don't eat today. Not because it causes my problems but because I didn't 'develop' a taste for them as a kid. Needless to say, I am a picky eater. lol
I have had 'episodes' of cramping, pain, urgency and diarehha over the years, far and few between though. (a couple, few a year, if that)
I have used marijuana since the age of 16 (off and on, more on than off) lol, and I can't help but think I have benefited from it's use after reading info the last few years about medical marijuana and crohn's disease. Hoping to learn more about it.
38 years old now and still livin' life with Crohn's!
