I've been reading with interest all the posts from endibd, and I'm hoping to buy a juicer as soon as.
I know I've been feeling much better since I 've cut out red meat, dairy is next.
I really need to change my diet, and reintroduce fruit and veg back in, and not to be scared that they will flare me up.

I've read this today with much interest, a lot of it makes sense to me
Sceptical? Read on.

I don't agree 100% with the diet, mainly because I do not think what is a good diet for me, is necessarily a good diet for you.

Other than that, it sounds pretty solid. I can eat red meat and I have no problems with it. Some do have problems, and should limit their intake, but red meat has nutritional aspects to it, that need to be replaced, if you are not going to eat it. One big mineral in red meat is Iron.

Processed meats are not very good for you. Colon Cancer has been linked to processed meats. I eat some, but try hard to stick with plain old meat that is not tampered with.

Lot of people do not deal with dairy well. I can eat cheese without a problem, but milk does not digest well. Most people would probably do better without it.

Fast converting Carbs really benefit nobody, unless you are a marathon runner, or have other intensive physical activity that are going to burn all of those quick calories. Sugar, HFCS, quick carbs from bread and grain products probably cause most of the diabetes out there today.

As with any method of treating this disease, it is a matter of if it works for you. I would add plenty of Broccoli to the diet, however you have to prepare it. Broccoli kills E-Coli, and I am fairly well convinced, some strains cause us symptoms.

I like the diet method because it carries virtually no risk, other than the risk of failure, which is always present with any treatment method.

Interesting article though not quite sure what you would eat if you stuck to the whole diet ;)
I'm vegetarian (and have been for 20 years) and when I first became ill and my gp didn't know what was wrong I was advised to stop dairy for a while. My symptoms didn't stop and as I was so fatigued I was worried where I'd get my protein from as I thought beans and pulses would make my d even worse.
That said I'd be very interested to find out how you get on. Ive not eaten fruit except for bananas for almost a year and I so miss it!

Digestive enzymes are made by the body from the nutrients we eat.

I thought this was really interesting. Of course I knew this, but, I don't know, seeing it in print and thinking of my juicing really made it stand out to me. My diet has been pretty bad for a long time plus now I'm not absorbing properly so it stands to reason I'm deficient.

I properly food combined a couple of decades ago, where I discovered how yummy a homemade coleslaw sandwich on whole grain bread was. Really!

Good luck with your efforts! While I'm not going vegan I am cleaning up my diet in a significant way.

Thanks everyone

Dan, I'm pleased that you think it's a good enough diet.
I'm eating fish and chicken, but not red meats like pork, lamb, beef and so on.
I don't have a problem with dairy neither but would like to stop having milk and cereals everyday.
I'm hoping to change my diet because I've been eating low res for so long to combat the symptoms of diarrhea, but now I'm concerned with the amount of carbs, refined flour and potatoes that I eat. I am very overweight now thro this and steroids. I'm bloated and look pregnant.
I'm no longer afraid to try veg, but in juicing form, hopefully I'll be more energised whereas I believe my diet at the mo is making me sluggish.

Joanie!!! Don't ask how I did it but I lost 5 lbs and on PRED?? Who does that? The only thing is I eat smaller meals and no fatty stuff, NO cookies or carbs as much. Eating oatmeal and puffed wheat for breakie. I have been walking almost a mile everyday and today is a record in temperatures here!! Going up to 10C!!! IN Feb it is always in the minus!! I will walk a bit more every day. Going down to 10mg of pred and using my gingerforce, I know I know but if my mind is letting me work it, so be it! Trying to stay away from meds! I am happy for now lol...:)

Aw Pen, that's smashing!
Keep up the good work my friend!
I'm determined, I've ordered a juicer, it comes Friday, then here I go!

Juicing is the new Rock n Roll!
