Hi,
I am new to this forum but basically my story is I have Crohn's and it is confined to the colon. I have this with the last 10 years. Had a colonoscopy in January and it showed that my colon is beginning to stricture.
My doctor started me on humira and my last blood test showed that inflammation is within the normal specification. However in my last consultation he was talking of elective surgery. He says my only option if I choose is to have a permanent removal of the colon. He says that it could close up eventually. I also have psc and he says this adds to my colon cancer risk and the best time to take it out is now while my colon is cancer free and my liver is ok. Just wondering has anyone else been through this and was this the only surgery option with colon structuring to have it removed or is there other options with other doctors?
