crohn's + gastritis??

Hi,, does anybody suffer from crohn's in addition to GERD, gastritis and duodenitis? The problem is that my stomach dictates which medications to take. I have been on 4g salofalk and i stayed well for 2 months. When my stomach flares, i have to resort to pentasa enema. I hardly ever can convince my doc that pentasa enema is ineffective for me but he insists that this is to relieve my stomach.
Now, I started to relapse and I'm very reluctant to either see or call my doc. He ordered an abdomen CT and a long list of tests. Out of experience, all this is useless and all what I need is 4g of salofalk but how can I convince him?
I'm currently on nexuim iv as i do have constant vomiting and stomach pain.
Does anybody of you have GERD, gastritis, duodenitis, moderate resistable h. pylori in addition to crohn's and proctitis? What do you do?

Diagnosed with undetermined crohn's 2007.
GERD for 13 years, gastritis and duodenitis for 4 years.
Current medication: pentasa enema x2, 175 mg azathioprine, pred (tapered to 2.5), nexuim 80mg,
Other meds for unknown severe infection: ceftriaxone 1g iv/ 12 hrs and tavanic 500 x 1.

Years ago I was diagnosed with gastritis, but now that I've been diagnosed with Crohn's I think it was always the Crohn's since it causes problems all the way from your mouth to your rectum. I was on the purple pill too, but it caused me to have more diarrhea.

I was d'xd with Gastritis at the end of last year, and they too started me on Nexium IV. I'm now taking 80mg tabs daily. They seen to have helped me quite a bit, but I do notice if I've gone past the 12hr mark and need another dose. My stomach probs 'we' think are not connected to my UC/CD (whichever it is!), but probably due to the medication I was taking. I was told to eat little and often, just to make sure that there was always something in my stomach to avoid any acid build up. Not much help I know, but hope you feel better soon.

Thank you Lee and Welsh-bird,
I'm glad, although it's not a source of happiness, that there are other "sufferes" there and I'm not the only person as my mum keeps telling me that what exacerbates my problem is that my stomach hurts me, too. Well, I do agree with you, Welsh-bird that 80 mg nexium is not enough and one needs more. Nexium iv is a blessing but I have to get back to tablets in 2 days. Is it true that docs have run out of meds? Whenever I complain, my doc puts me on nexium as it is the sole ppi that agrees with my stomach.
There is something I wish could happen. All i need is taking 4g Salofalk and aza and that's it but my stomach doesn't allow me this and my gastritis flare up.
Take care

hi minnietoty

i have GERD and gastritis. I have taken ranidine, omeprazole and now I recently started tecta. It has only just started to work but sometimes there is some breakthrough pain (if thats what you call it...) some days or hours the symptoms return and I dont have an answer as to why.
I have also had it for a very very long time but the ranididine worked for a lot of years...and have been on the omeprazole for about 3...
I mostly have a lot of burning in between my shoulder blades at the back... sometimes lower...I have a lot of other symptoms but those are the most aggravating... feels like a horse kicked me there...
I was neg for H.pylori and Im not sure what duodenitis is.
I can definitely relate to the nagging pain of GERD though. I also agree that it has a lot to do with Crohns... I have heard H.pylori can wreak havoc on your entire digestive system.. have you seen more than one opinion about it to try to get it under control???
I am also like you in that I have so far been diagnosed with non-definitive Crohns... although I think I am getting closer to an answer.
Please keep your chin up though .... there has to be an answer ..and I hope it is right around the corner for you
Wendy

Hi Keona,
Wishing you all best of luck tomorrow. Well, I don't know what tecta is and I'll ask my doc about it. Duodenitis means inflammation of the duodenum. I think that you all are right since i have inflammation in my stomach, duodenum, small intestines and colon. It's not a cioncidence that they all are inflamed. I'll try to negotiate it with my doc next time I see him.
Take care.

thank-you minnietoty :)
the other name for Tecta is pantoprazole magnesium. It is a PPi. OKay, I had a feeling it was inflammation but was too lazy to google it :) I don't think its a coincidence that it is all inflamed either... was wondering if the pred helped it when you were on it?
