I am going through a mild flare up after a pretty long, med free remission. My doc put me on Budesonide & Lialda, and I've been on them for about a year now. Aside from some mild abdominal cramps and some diarrhea, I have had no major symptoms. My appetite has been good (no weight loss) and even good energy. Within the last week though I started feeling feverish with chills and have also begun experiencing some bad night sweats. I have been through this before, but always with other symptoms.
I don't know if this is a side effect of my meds...is it due to a coming flare? I don't know! I just had a colonoscopy in September, and the doc said it looked good. Just curious if anyone else has experienced fever/chills/night sweats as "stand alone" symptoms?

I would have your doctor order a CBC and maybe a CRP or ESR to check your white count and see if something is brewing. A lot of IBDers will have fevers/chills/night sweats as a warning before the abdominal sx really flare up(myself included). Or, since IBD is immune mediated, fevers/night sweats, etc could just be part of the package--sort of like getting a cold or the flu but without the other symptoms, randomly and in variable frequency. Hope you start feeling better soon
