I've had a constant feeling of there being something caught in my throat for at least a week. I was diagnosed with Crohn's about a year ago and am managing my symptoms by following an autoimmune protocol diet which has gone rather well, but this is new and troubling and I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this uncomfortable sensation? It's not pain, but I fear it's actually part of my throat I'm feeling...
thoughts?

Are you being followed by a Gi ?
Crohns can cause inflammation from mouth to anus so there could be inflammation in your throat .

Please call your Gi

I suffer from a granular chronic inflammation of the pharynx, but it is not a crohn's manifestation.
how would you describe your symptoms?
Do you feel constant dryness and need to drink or eat something to feel better in the throat?
feeling irritated in the throat when you talk a lot or talk load?

if symptoms persist, tell your GI and if he cant find, he shall refer you to an ENT dr.

could it simply be a cold?

Do you have bad breath with this? If so see an ENT to have a scope ASAP. It is unlikely but you may really have something stuck in a pouch in your throat. A more common reason for feeling like something is stuck in your throat (which is called globus sensation) is a stricture. One common type of stricture is a shatzki ring.
I can not post a link but it is easy to look up. One other thing, pain or the feeling of fullness in throat is often referred, that means it is happening in a different place then where you feel it.

I technically do have a GI specialist, but she is impossible to get in with and is not trilled about working with me since I decline to treat my condition with the drugs she prescribes. I recently started drinking coffee again and reintroduced chocolate into my diet as well. I'm suspecting it is a reaction to these things. I am continuing to attempt to get in with my GI, but feel like maybe I've figured the throat discomfort out for now. Just gotta limit the chocolate and coffee. (it was my birthday and my mom made chocolate sauce so I was going crazy - must have overdone it) thank you for the responses

I wonder if you have gastro esophageal reflux (gerd). Especially since you added back coffee and chocolate. Those two foods are notorious for causing reflux. Try cutting back on those two foods as well as spicy foods. Inflammation in the esophagus from acid reflux can cause this sensation. I know how hard it is to abide by a strict diet instead of meds. I do the same thing. Very difficult for me. I don't do meds well, my system rebels and I react poorly to everything. I am trying to do low FODMAP. I didn't know I was a fructose, polyol malabsorber and was eating a ton of fruits etc. on the auto immune Paleo diet and it was killing me. My GI was not happy with me either. Good luck!

Yes i agree , i have Gerd and i felt the same sensation so as said try to avoid those food and get a scope asap. hope you feel better
