Hi finnigan and :welcome:

I'm glad to see you found your way here. Whoa 10 years of fob off and unfortunately you're NOT ( thanks Dex) the only one here that has had a very lengthy time of misdiagnosis. :( There is a Humira club here so you might like to browse through it, but beware it's long!

My daughter was also diagnosed on the operating table, not very pleasant ay. I hope you stick around 'cause this is a safe and friendly place to hang out with heaps of experience, support and info.

Welcome aboard!

All the best, :)
Dusty

HI Fin, welcome to the forum! :bigwave:. Lots of people on here have had the IBS story too, whilst it sounds like BS, it is hard to diagnose Crohns and some on here still dont have a diagnosis.

I have been on Humira, it is pretty easy and in my opinion not as strong as Remicade. It was first a must to be on Remicade for some insurance companies but now most are starting on Humira. Cimzia is usually last if it is in your country. Humira didnt work to long for me but others have done miracles!

BTW your story wasnt long, gosh we are in trouble lol.

Hope to see you around! :goodluck:

Hi Finn, Welcome!! I think Dusty meant you're not the only one with a lengthy mis-dx. There are several with lengthy non-dxes as well. I hope you find the info you're looking for in the humira thread. Good luck and stick around!!

Hi Finnigan,

What they all said... Humira is great. I take it you've just had the 4 loading doses? They should start to kick in about 4 days after! Well they did for me, it was a subtle thing, I actually felt able to do something and not feel wiped out after. However, I know with some people it take a lot longer, or doesn't work for them at all. Good luck, and hope it works for you!
Despite the dire warnings of death and pestilence on the leaflets it is pretty safe what with the pre-screening blood tests. You just have to make sure you are feeling well(ish) and don't have a temperature before taking it. Then it's as safe as you're going to be!

I'm guessing you are on once a fortnight injections? Keep in touch with your IBD nurse and consultant, as it wouldn't be unknown for the goodness to slide away after the loading doses wear off. I'm now on weekly injections as are a couple of other people on here.

Hi Finnagin,

Welcome to the forum. You'll be amazed the friendliness and wealth of information you will receive from all the fine folks of the forum. Hope that you reach some comfort soon.
