My son had a CT when we brought him to the ER before he was diagnosed. It showed small bowel loops and enlarged lymph nodes but they said it was probably a stomach bug and sent us home. So it was pretty useless for us, unless it was the Dr. reading it. I think they do CT more in the ER because it is quicker(and cheaper) to give pictures.
Once my son was diagnosed through an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy they scheduled an MRE. This is suppose to pick up strictures, inflamed areas, or scar tissue in places the scope can't reach. It is what most have scheduled by their G.I. after diagnosis. We got more information from the MRE, but again it could have been the Dr. reading it. BUT, an MRE or MRI doesn't have dangerous radiation. A CT scan does. I would not want my son subjected to anymore radiation than necessary so I would prefer the MRE unless your Dr. has a specific reason why he/she prefers the CT scan. You already have an increased risk of cancer with meds and disease I would not want anymore. But talk to your Dr., maybe there is a reason they prefer the CT scan in your situation. A pill cam is an option too if you haven't found anything on your scopes but feel like you still might have disease. Most people would get a pill cam and MRE in that situation.
My son gets pain in upper abdomen and it can radiate a bit. You can get acid reflux and stomach ulcers with crohn's which could cause those issues. Those would have been found on your scope though.
Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon. ((((Hugs))))))
