I'm curious to know if mm users (I am not) also take prescribed medication for your crohns? Do you get flares while using mm and have to take prednisone or budesonide to get back on track OR does the mm keep you good to go always???

thanks

I don't know for sure, I think it is different for everyone. But for me personally, I have been off all pharmaceuticals for over a year. (asacol, pentasa, nexium, prednisone, remicade)
I do have to smoke quite a lot now, atleast once a day. Whenever I feel symptoms coming on, I take my medication till I feel normal again.

Also I think the best way to get cannabis in your system with crohn's is either with a vaporizer or a tincture. I don't believe edibles work all that well because they may pass too fast.
Best of luck in your journey, I hope you find good health!

Hello, I had to discontinue steroids, 6mp, and 3 different biologicals because they were making me sicker. I have used cannabis products and B12 injections exclusively for 2 years without a flare. I haven't even had to see a doc or go to ER at all. I still have some problems because of short bowel and immune system but haven't felt better in 30 plus years.

I read about TNF blockers being present in CB1 and CB2 Cannabanoids. If this is true, how does one get these benefits without smoking or getting high? I would hate that feeling, but would be interested in the natural TNF blockers as an anti-inflammatory.

Ideas?

CBD is non-psychoactive and extremely medicinal. The only problem is that it's darn near impossible to find isolated especially in a non medical state.

Just curious, have you ever tried cannabis before? How do you know you would "hate" the feeling? I agree with you about the smoking part, that's why I use a vaporizer.

If you have safe access to cannabis I highly suggest trying it...it's a miracle for IBD. I'm sure many others on the site can attest to that.

I've had Crohn's for 45 years and used marijuana for all but 13 of them. until 3 years ago, my case was mild. It is now much worse.
However, and this is the interesting question did marijuana manage to keep my symptoms at bay for 45 years--I think so and it has been a wonder drug for me.
Right now i'm on Pred--just boosted from 30 mg to 60 and humira for 5 weeks. still smoke my marijuana--it makes me feel better and I forget the discomfort.
I hope you feel well

My doc told me I would probably be even more sick if I didn't use cannabis. You can get strains that won't really mess with your head but will help the pain :) Vaporizing also makes a difference, I find it kills pain more, lasts longer and doesn't make me all loopy
