Hi everyone, my name is Erica. I was diagnosed in 2005 with Crohn's Disease. I have been having a lot of issues lately. I went into remission for about 3 years and I have been experiencing flares off and on. I have every size clothes as I never know what my weight will end up at. I am usually 155 comfortably (not overweight), I am currently 114 lbs. I have been going round and round with my Gastro Dr. as he is clueless as to what regimen to put me on as nothing is working. I just wanted to introduce myslef, I heard it would be helpful to me if I joined a forum.

Current Meds:
Cimzia 400 mg im twice a month
Imuran 25 mg 2 QD
Bentyl 20 mg QID
Levsin .025mg PRN
Tramadol 50mg TID
Pepcid 20 mg 2 @HS
Pentasa 1g QID
Prednisone 60 tapered dose 60/1wk, 50/1wk, 40/1wk etc

I am hoping this works! Thanks all:eek2:

Welcome to the forum, Erica. :bigwave:

I believe you've made a good choice in which forum to join. This one has a very home-like feel to it. I hope you'll agree.

I'm terribly sorry that you aren't currently well. You sure are on a lot of meds, so I hope something kicks in and does the job for ya. Have you tried any of the other biologics? Remicade? Humira? There are some upcoming test drugs that you may qualify to use if you're feeling brave (or desperate). You'd have to check with your doctor about those, though. I don't remember what they were.

Like you, my wardrobe is packed with many sizes of clothes. I could use several walk-in closets just to myself. :D And atop of that, my bathroom cabinets are packed with all sorts of essential goodies... I think we all deserve bigger bathrooms than most have. ;)

Hello Erica and :welcome: to the forum. I am sorry to hear that you are struggling to get a working treatment plan. You sure are on a fair few meds and I agree with Jessie that perhaps it is worth looking into some of the 'bigger hitters'. Can I also check that you doc has prescribed a calcium supplement for you? You are on quite a high dose of steroids so it is important that you have something to help protect your bones.

I do hope that things improve for you soon hun, let us kow how you get on

Thanks

Thanks Jessi and Angrybird for the words of encouragement. It feels good to talk to others who understand me. I am on so many meds I did forget to mention (sometimes I forget) I am on Vitamin D 50,000 units Q weekly. Would this suffice for calcium?

I personally could not say for certain what that level means, David one of our administrators is really good with things like this this so hopefully he (or somene else) will see this thread and will hopefully be able to confirm.
