Diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis today. Afraid of Humira!

Diagnosed with Ulcerative proctitis in 2012. Asacol worked great. Took for approx 8 months and took myself off of the medication. In January of this year contracted food poison & have had issues since. My insurance, will no longer pay for Asacol so I hv been taking Lialda with no success. My doctor has prescribed Humira. The side effects scare me. I am a 44 year old female. Does anyone hv any advice, etc.?

I'm trying to decide if i should take Humira too, I'm gonna keep an eye on this post!

DS has been on it for over a year at the age of 10.
No issues even being In a school full of kids all year.
