diagnosis-versary

So it was one year today that I had my surprise surgery and consequent diagnosis. I can't believe it's been a year. But more then that, I can't believe I marked my 1 year with a trip to the ER!

I have been sick the last few days and felt better this morning so I tried to go to my nieces birthday party today. However, I started to go downhill, quickly while there. I ended up having my parents drive me to the ER because I was having a very hard time breathing and just felt awful. Turns out they are calling it a bronchospasm. Similar feelings and symptoms to hyperventillating. Not fun. He had me use a nebulizer treatment, and then sent me on my merry way with a prescription for ..... Pred! Woot woot! So I don't go on Pred for Crohns, but for this chest crap. hahah I laughed inside about that turn of events. So I started a 5 day 40mg dose of pred today. No taper though. The pharmacist says that such a short time frame doesn't need a taper. <shrug>

So here it is ... one year since I was gutted. :)

Cristin - Sorry to hear you had such a bad day. If you want my honest opinion, your body was rejecting the great weather we're finally having!

Hope you're feeling better.

David

Maybe thats it!! Its been so nice out and my body just says "what the heck is this?!?!?! That's it, you're staying inside missy."

Hey Cris, so sorry you had to go through all that. I hope you are feeling 100% really soon. Take good care dear.

Hang in there Miscriss, just a though or some advice, I always had to go on Nexium whilst on Prednisone, causes alot of heartburn for most of us. Tums dont even touch it. Zantac, has a new strength version , at least here anyways. Just a helpful hint. ;)

Hey Cris

Happy diagnosisversary!
Hope you're on the mend, and good luck with the Pred
lotsa luv
xxxx

hey cris,
i had bronchiospasms too around 1st of year. and pred too!
turns out mine was due to allergies. zyrtec-d did the trick. you might want to try that.

hope you are better :)

Thanks everybody. :) Feeling a little better and breathing more normally now. Only set back that is just plain annoying is the completely run down and exhausted feeling. I can't seem to shake it. Went out to lunch today to try and get out and move a little more, then when we went to a store real quick I had to use the ride around wheelchair. Yup, I'm cool. hehe So that sucks. I'm very run down. I'm debating taking one more day to rest and re-coop tomorrow and not go to work, but I dont know. I do need to get to work, I missed thurs and fri last week, but I'm afraid of over doing it with how much this has kicked my ass! Oh yeah, that too. Thank Crohns. heh :)

Yeah, Crohns is great...NOT! Sorry you were in the ER...can't stand the smell of the hospital...My heart goes out to you...I hope you get a good and quick recovery. Sue

Thanks Jerman. Unfortunately my day wasn't better. :( Started out ok, went to my daughters parent/teacher conference then headed to work. Still didn't feel 100% but was going to work dammit. A little over an hour into it I had to go. I just told my boss I was sorry but I couldn't stay. Right before that my GI office called and said they wanted to see me today at 4pm. So I am now back on my couch and headed to another dr appt today. I don't know what is going on, but somebody needs to give answers. I felt awful having to leave work, and I almost started crying when I told her I had to go. All I know is this sucks. Thanks for the well wishes everybody, they do mean a lot though.

Jerman .. I'll take that hug. I guess it's my turn to take hugs. heh :)
