Diarrhoea 6 days post colonoscopy

Hi there,

I had a colonoscopy 6 days ago and ever since then I've been having diarrhoea with blood, a little bit of mucous and urgency. The abdominal pain went away within the the first few days but the diarrhoea is still there. Has anyone else experienced this post colonoscopy and for so long? I spoke to the IBD nurse and the Dr said it can stir things up but going to get bloods and a calprotectin test done.

Call and ask for some prednisone or other medication, you may be having a flare up due to the colonoscopy/prep/etc

I had a flare up after my first colonoscopy and was given no meds for 2 weeks after being diagnosed with Crohn's. This was incredibly terrible to do to a patient and I am switching GIs because of it.
