Ok so I need some help. To be completely honest I generally eat horribly because I know longer have much pain and feel 100% better since my surgery in '07. Problem is I have diarrhea like all the time and as we all know that is inconvenient and according to the doc can cause more health problems in the long run... So my question to all of you is what types of food and diets have you found that help reduce diarrhea. I don't want to make any major changes right away, I would like to gradually make changes in my eating and begin exercising for all around better health. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I found D relief when I began eating a low carb/ paleo diet. Thought this a nice web sight listing other web sights that discuss the benefits health wise of eating this way. Best of luck in finding what works for you!

A low residue diet will generally be easier to digest. You can google it and find plenty of information on low residue diets.

Things like rice cereal, bananas, mashed potatoes, toast, all can help bulk up your stool and are easy to digest.

crohn's diet

You have probably read about the different kind of diet for Crohn;s disease on the Internet. But there is no absolutely dependable or scientifically established facts diet for inflammatory bowel disease. Most experts are saying that you can single out or recognize or identify foods that can trigger your gastrointestinal symptoms, specifically during disease flares.by refraining to foods that can trigger you G.I. symptoms might the only way to prevent abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, and diarrhea. furthermore, it is most recommended to patients who have crohn's to stay on balance and healthy diet.

I echo Beach. I have found gluten free to be the way to go - haven't gone as far as a paleolithic diet yet but am looking in to it......I'm trying to find out Novak Djokovic's diet (who is playing as I write this) as he was recently diagnosed with celiac disease.

Hi Megan,

I've had two resections for CD which has left me with a short bowel. For 13 years i've had to take loperamide due to my short gut.Just under two years ago i finally gained complete remission from CD following the success i had with AMP.However, due to my short gut i stick to a very plain diet.I follow some of the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, apple, toast).I avoid ANY food which is spicy & i have not had a beer for 13 years(just not worth it).
Everyone is different so it can be trial & error.

Best Wishes

Diet plan plays an important role and it should be very accurate and balance that is suitable . My diet plan is
1. Corn flakes in breakfast with 2 eggs

that cant be 2 eggs mixed in with cornfalkes can it??

I find curries good for me (quite a bit of ginger, garlic, tomatoes and onions) doesnt have to be spicy to be tasty
