Was in IL-10 knockout mice, in the non-knockout mice they didn't see this, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there from what I understand, I assume the effect would be magnified in the IL-10 knockout mice since not having IL-10 response would make inflammation that much worse in the knockout kind.

But that article pretty much sums up my opinion on IBD's. They're not recognised enough by the general population. In fact up until a few months ago I knew very little about Crohn's. I just always assumed it was a disease in the bowels where you had to get your colon taken out and you get a bag and thats it. I guess thats because the only person I knew having Crohn's is my uncle and he has a severe case of it and he has a bag. I'd love to get this disease more well known, like diabetes. More awareness means more research which could lead to a cure. So many people suffer with this illness in complete silence. You know when someone has diabetes, you see them take insulin. You know someone with a serious heart condition because they're probably more open about it. We aren't open about our illness and for obvious reasons. But we should, sure we don't have to let people know we poo blood or vomit occasionally or whatever other embarassing symptom. But we should let people know we're suffering because of this, let them know we are ill and more people than you think suffer from it. I bet throughout my life I met people who are sufferers of an IBD but didn't know .

pretty much how I feel, I do hope that the internet is a more comfortable place to talk about these diseases, I am very comfortable to talk about my disease online and I think this will help create awareness for things people might otherwise be embarrassed about
