Hi everybody, a well meaning........ Nut job is sending me literature about this stuff says I should try it. I have no plans on trying it (my crohns is well under control) Nor do I plan on researching it. I was just curious to know if anybody has heard of it or tried it. This would definitely be considered alternative treatment

I have used it externally for a strained tendon, to bring swelling down to heal it faster. It worked well for that.

I have not used it much for anything else, but I know it is used for a lot of different things.

DMSO is a water miscible solvent (i.e. will mix with water). It is not something you should really take orally. Some unfortunate Cancer patients have to take some new therapies via IV, where the drug is dissolved in DMSO. Infusion is unpleasant, with a lot of associated irritation. Patients also develop an unpleasant odour, due to the breakdown of DMSO in the body.
I say avoid.
