I am just curious about all of your pill-taking habits?:)

I take my meds (Lialda and Imuran) after lunch. It's not usually a problem during the week because I am at work and lunch is on schedule. But pretty much every weekend, I forget to take my meds at least one of the two days. Does anyone have any good tips for remembering? Taking them first thing in the AM is not an option because I have found that I do better with the Imuran if I take it with food and mornings are always pretty unpredictable for me.

I used to forget all the time but never when I am on Prednisone, too risky. I try and avoid taking too many meds because my theory how do you know what is or isnt working. Just my 2 cents. As for remembering, put a note on your fridge door, or set a timer on your watch.

I am constantly forgetting to take my meds, where's my cell phone, appointments, to return phone calls, and just about everything short of feeding my kids and using the bathroom. I don't know what is side effects and what may be the result of having a brain full of worry. I would suggest getting one of those pill holders that the pharmacies sell, just a few bucks. Good luck.

Thanks Jerman. I do have one of those pill holders. It really helps to remind me that I forgot to take my meds...the next day!:ylol2:

Because I take so many supplements and in the past pills I keep a very large pill box with a slot for each day. I usually take my pills in the morning with my breakfast. When I needed to take meds at night I kept the pills next to my bed as a reminder.

Good post... Ive forgot about mine today until now lol. Im useless as well, normally leave a few packs in various rooms or in my pocket so if i do see them theres more chance I will take them.

You could use your mobile phone to set the alarm, works for me!
That is a great idea Joan. I will give it a try...as long as I can remember to take my phone with me!

Yeah Shady that's true!
I always have mine with me, quite obsessional with it, lol
I also bought a lovely decorative box to put my meds in, and it's next to the kettle, defo remember them when I go for a coffee!

I leave my meds beside the cookies on the counter...I always eat cookies, so I always see my meds and remember to take them...lol

I take all of my meds right before bed. I've been doing this since I was kid. Eventually it becomes a routine that you do such as getting dressed. Even when I drank too much and blacked out, I apparently still remembered to take my medicine. Alarms could work but you have to make sure the alarm be it your watch or phone is on your person, a rubber band around your wrist does the same thing but you have to remember to put it on. The main thing is time cause it takes time to get used to doing it.

Not generally, but this semester my schedule is jam packed so if I forget to grab them in the morning then I have to go all day without them. I forgot them today :(

I am having a heck of a time remembering to take the multi-vit in the morning. I take the Aza with dinner and often I have to get up from bed before I fall asleep to take it since I forgot that one too :"(

I take my pills at night. Brush teeth, wash make up off and take pills!!!! I do occasionally get in bed and ask myself "Did I take them tonight? " Sometimes I will even be almost asleep and wake right up knowing I did not take my pills. Overall I do pretty good!

I take the majority in the morning, bentyl at lunch time, then supper meds and before bed Zocor and 2 more Bentyl. Have a pill box for am and pm but I have an alarm which I call Janis to make sure I take'em. Been really good about it since my heart attack.

I have trouble remembering my weekly methotrexate pills. For the past three weeks I've taken them a day late. Otherwise, I remember my daily pred (I keep them in the kitchen), but I get lazy and don't always take my vitamins. No problem remembering the Humira injections, though.

The only way I can remember is to keep the bottles out. I see them on the counter and I remember. I put the bottles next to the bed fir the ones I need to take in the morning.
