Last night, I lost control of my bowels. At the same time, the places where I have psoriasis was itching. Since both Crohn's Disease and psoriasis are both autoimmune diseases does this mean things are flaring up?

Sorry to hear that ronrush7.
Sounds as if that could be a beginning flare up. What are your flare-symptoms normally? Everyone's flare-up symptoms are a bit different, so you are the specialist. ;-) I would try to eat foods that calm your intestines (same: you know what calms it down and what you can't have; in general food that is easy to digest etc., e.g. warm soups or what you think would be helpful now). Do you have some cream from your dermatologist, like corticosteroid creams or a topical immunosuppressant (protopic or something)?

Maybe you can calm things down before it becomes a full flare-up. I would also recommend to call your gastroenterologist to see what he recommends to calm things down before it becomes too bad.

I usually go to the bathroom a lot. Fortunately, I didn't lose control again. Sometimes I will have nausea and weight loss.

Hi ron i'm sorry your struggling i hope you feel better soon. I have to agree with charlotte could be a flare or meds or something you ate. If not better i suggest to see Gi

Great! maybe it was a specific food you ate? do you remember eating something different that day or previous day?

I would encourage you to ask for closer monitoring with fecal calprotectine. This tool is so convenient, easy and reliable, we should take advantage of it. I take it regularly every 3 or 4 months.

I am wondering if it could have been premade sweet potatoes or hard boiled eggs. I am supposed to repeat the calprotectin but haven't yet. I am curious why the psorasis was bothering me at the same time?
