dose any of this sounds familiar?

Hi all, I am new to the forum, and I have a few questions. I am still seeking a DX for the problems I have been having, and the GI doc (whom i strongly dislike), is thinking crohns, but he isnt very communicative. so here is a short history....

DX of Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2008, sept 2011 I had a bladder surgery for stress uterine incontinence, that's when my problems started. for 2 -3 months, I only had a bm every 4-5 days (before surgery i was every day regular), and after bm i would have 1-2 days of diarrhea. I didn't worry too much, figured it was from the antibiotics they gave me during surgery. at 3 months, I saw my PCM (whom I LOVE) and he suggested I try some probiotics to get my gut bacteria back to normal. Now, i am also lactose intolerant and have been since 1988, but yogurt has never been an issue, so I went and bought the "Activa" yogurt , found out 30 minutes after eating one that it has LACTOSE!!! well, needless to say, i spend 2 weeks in a lactose flare and started on a different probiotic. a month later, I went back to my PCM, told him the only thing that changed was that now I was no longer constipated, but had diarrhea, stomach grumbling and could feel the food moving through my intestines, and with in 1- 2 hours was running to the restroom. He did some blood work, stool samples and sent me to a GI doc. The GI doc scheduled me for a endoscopy/colonoscopy, 2 weeks later, did that. (had a horrible experience with the prep which left me severely dehydrated) and had a abdominal sonogram. all that came back normal. GI doc made sure to tell me repeatedly that I had a torturous colon (I knew and told him that from a previous scope done) and he was not able to get very far and he to use a child scope. The only thing he found was red spots in my stomach lining (which the biopsy came back clean). So now, i am waiting for an IBD panel (which was done wednesday) and also waiting for the insurance to approve the camera scope (the one you swallow).

In the mean time, I have lost 25 lbs in 5 months, i have had multiple accidents while out with my family, when i eat, i feel like crud for a few hours and feel like i have to stay near the restroom. I've cut out all red meat from my diet as that makes it worse, and I'm feeling like a prisoner to the restroom.

I know that with one auto-immune disease, its likely to have more pop up, and I have had IBS dx from a scope done 5 years ago (regular screening for colon cancer/FAPS). I am on humira weekly (for 4 years) for my AS, and it has done winders, but it does not seem to be doing much for my digestive issues.

I guess Im just wondering if any of this sounds familiar to anyone with a IBD dx.

Thanks in advance for any advice or comments!!

Wow, I would think that if it was IBD the Humira would help that out a whole lot! I took humira for a few years and it did wonders for my belly.

I guess it still could be IBD, but unfortunately sometimes it takes a really long time for it to be diagnosed. Maybe since you are on the humira, they aren't finding anything that is wrong in your intestine.

Be careful with the IBD panel. They aren't always acurate. I've had Crohn's for 13 years and had that done a few years ago. It was fairly new and my Dr. was just curious as to what it would say. He said that he's had lots of patients test negative for IBD when they did actually have it. Mine came back negative and I obviously have Crohn's.

I hope you get some answers and you start to feel better soon!!
