Ensure Supplement drinks

hi all ive started my ensure drinks today yuk, fruit punch, not nice, how the eck do you get goodness out of something thats makes me want to puke now lol, anyway ill give them a try and see how they go, just to see if they can get me out of bed, my house is a tip, my ironing needs doin, and god knows what else is waiting for me down there lol. well anyway off for another sleep now in between toilet stops, 23 times yesterday where does it all come from. the pain is not has bad as it was, the steroids must be kicking in now, wait for the acid to appear now . tc all xxxsuexxxoo:

But yea, I didn't think they made Ensure in Fruit Punch, that sounds disgusting! I've always drank Chocolate and Strawberry flavors and those were all right for me!

Strawberry is my fave! Others are gross lol. Acid reducers do help but they also stop other vitamins from absorbing. Vomiting isnt a good sign, when have you had a scope?

I tried the Pecan... it is ok, I love the strawberry and I wouldnt dream of putting it in cream of wheat :eek2: . Two reasons, one is I love cream of wheat but it makes me bloat and two, never put ensure on any cereal lol :ylol2:

I actually prefer the brand Boost over Ensure. The chocolate flavor tastes exactly like chocolate milk to me with no gross vitamin-y aftertaste. I thought vanilla was the worst flavor of the Ensure drinks. I tried chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla Ensure on the hospital and decided chocolate hid the weirdo taste the best. But, chocolate Boost is my go-to supplemental drink.

I saw the Pecan flavor the other day and wondered if it was any good. I worry if I think it sucks though I'll have 5 leftover! Haha. They also had banana flavor, but I'm not a huge fan of banana flavored things. I do believe the Boost was cheaper than Ensure where I live too!

Sorry to hear about your double digit daily bathroom visits. In the same boat here many a day.

Ensure is better tasting now that it's switched to the plastic bottles over the tin cans. I only get the chocolate or mocha versions. Some of the pharmacy or supermarket house brands are okay too.

I was thinking (yeah I do that from time to time :lol: ) it is a good thing we all have a choice of what we like. If there was only Boost, I would def find something else, I find it chalky. I also prefer the cans. Could you imagine only one flavour or brand???

Johnny I never tried a store brand, too chicken to try. Shoppers drug mart will stock some individual ones in their fridgerated areas. Might try one.

Boost was too slimey to me, and I didn't like Ensure. I did like the cappuccino flavor of Slim-Fast, and I LOVED the Carnation Instant Breakfast powder mixed with soy milk and flavored coffee creamer.

The smell of Ensure makes me want to vomit. I can only drink Chocolate Boost. Tastes like a melted milkshake to me.

the pecan is much like vanilla with a nuttiness. TBH I did best when I kept 3 or 4 flavors in the fridge and I could pick and choose. I lived on purely a liquid diet for 3 months and when you are getting nothing at all to eat you don't complain. I knew when I started getting picky with it that I didn't need it anymore.
