Hi, I have at the moment 4 of these damn things all which have come up over 2 years through the scar on my stomach after a resection.
Two have been cut and layed open ,the other two are quite recent. I have tried Remicade but had a severe reaction was then put on Humira but it made it worse rather than better, so now I am on nothing. Is there any other meds I could try or am I looking at going down the surgery route yet again? Any advise would be greatly apprieciated thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear this Bev :-( I don't have problems with this type of fistula, but if you pop over to the Fistula and Abscesses subforum, there are people who have. What are your doctors suggesting?

I'm not getting enough support at the moment with the hospital i'm at. the gastro is just saying "oh you need surgery" I have seen my GP and asked to be refered to St Marks Hospital in Harrow London who deal with all bowel issues hopefully they can be of more help and give me other options besides surgery. thanks so much for you reply Bev x

I've been drinking hydrogen peroxide to keep it from getting infected all the time. Stupid things take forever to heal! If you're interested I'll type how to take it again. Basically take it in very diluted in water and not around any food or else it makes you sick.

You might want to try silver spray orally, it should work better than H202 and without potentially injuring your stomach. I use bactine cooling spray on the outside of the fistula, it feels great and numbs the pain for a few hours.
